Dermal Fillers

About

Dermal fillers are a versatile treatment designed to restore volume, enhance facial contours, and soften lines. Fillers are the most effective non-surgical treatment option to restore volume to an ageing face. Whether you're looking to define your cheeks or jawline, restore youth in the lips, or smooth deeper folds, when done correctly, this treatment should leave you looking refreshed - not overdone.

Am I suitable for treatment?

Dermal fillers require a consultation to ensure you are medically suitable to receive treatment. A consultation also allows thorough assessment and discussion of your goals to ensure that dermal fillers are the best treatment to address your cosmetic concerns.

Which areas can be treated?

A variety of facial regions can be treated with dermal fillers using different techniques. These include (but are not limited to) cheeks, lips, chin, jawline, nasolabial folds, marionette lines and peri-oral (smoker's) lines. There are a small number of facial areas not treated at Dr Nenah Aesthetics due to anatomical risks. Feel free to enquire directly if there is a particular treatment area of interest.

How many mls of filler do I need?

The answer to this question is one of the most complex. Different facial areas require different volumes of filler depending on the degree of volume loss and the desired result. One size does not fit all. Different consistencies of filler are used depending on the area - thicker formulations for structural support, and softer, more fluid ones for areas with movement, such as the lips.

Will I look unnatural?

This is one the most commonly asked questions. A natural-looking result is always the goal. When dermal fillers are placed conservatively and with a strong understanding of facial anatomy, they can enhance your features without making you look overdone. We take care to avoid the overfilled appearance often associated with overly large lips or overly prominent cheeks. Instead, treatments are tailored to restore balance and subtly enhance your natural structure. If you're new to fillers or unsure, we always recommend a gradual approach—less is often more.

What can I expect after treatment?

The post-treatment timeline can vary person to person. Many patients find that the downtime is minimal and they are able to return to work as normal the following day. The table below gives an idea of what to expect in the hours to days following treatment.
